Sea Change Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Coonawarra, Australia
Coonawarra in South Australia is one of the world’s finest wine regions with a reputation for producing some of Australia’s best red wines. It was therefore an obvious place for us to source a premium red wine to add to our range: introducing Sea Change Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
Two things make Coonawarra special: firstly, its unique fertile red soil known as Terra Rossa, which provides perfect conditions for growing world-class grapes. Secondly, its moderate climate – although inland, the area is very flat and benefits from sea breezes from the Antarctic which cool the vines during late summer. This allows for a longer and slower ripening season, giving the fruit a chance to develop more complex flavours and retain its natural acidity.
We are delighted to work with a small boutique winery, managed by one of the oldest wine families in the area, to produce Sea Change Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. With a legacy dating back to 1852 stretching over six generations, their wine knowledge and expertise is evident in every bottle.
Tasting Notes
Sea Change Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon’s dark crimson colour gives a hint of what’s to come: dark berry and chocolate aromas with a ripe plum core, this is an intense, full-bodied wine with a lingering fruity finish.
Food Pairings
Best enjoyed alongside rich foods with strong, savoury flavours such as red meats, roast dinners and hearty vegetable stews.
When to drink
A beautiful wine in its youth, but it will continue to improve for up to five years if stored correctly.
Environmental Benefits
Sea Change Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that’s special in more ways than one. With every bottle sold you are helping to fund a host of ocean conservation projects, such as the incredible living sea wall in Falmouth harbour, designed to provide a vital habitat for sea life and to support increased biodiversity.
