Sea Change Organic Picpoul de Pinet 2023
Piquepoul blanc, AOC Languedoc, France
We’re delighted to introduce the latest addition to the Sea Change Wine range. Crafted with care and precision in a unique corner of the world, if ever a wine was to reflect its sense of place, Sea Change Organic Picpoul de Pinet is it.
The vineyards which produce our Organic Picpoul de Pinet run along the southern French coast, separated from the waves of the Mediterranean Sea by a large salt water lagoon. The area is perfectly suited to producing Picpoul, one of the oldest domestic French varieties of grape, thanks to its long hot summers and mild winters.
Sea Change Organic Picpoul de Pinet is easily identifiable thanks to its distinctive Neptune bottle with a Languedoc cross and a ring of gentle waves around the neck, and columns symbolising Roman Doric architecture at the base.
Tasting Notes
Sea Change Organic Picpoul de Pinet has aromas that include citrus blossom and Mediterranean herbs. The name Picpoul translates as ‘stings the lip’ and refers to the mouthwatering acidity of this variety, which offers salty minerality reminiscent of the ocean.
Food Pairings
Thanks to the winery’s coastal proximity, it’s no surprise that Sea Change Organic Picpoul de Pinet is a perfect match for fresh seafood. It also enjoys the company of salty and creamy cheeses, grilled fish or white meat. If you’re feeling adventurous, try our Picpoul with Asian food like Pad Thai.
When to drink
Best enjoyed when young and fresh.
Environmental benefits
Discover a fantastic taste experience while benefitting our charity partners with every pour. Their work helps protect our ocean and its inhabitants – including the Angelfish featured on our Picpoul labels. Their coral reef habitat is under enormous threat from pollution, destructive fishing practices, coastal development and climate change. According to the WWF, over the last three decades, the world has lost half of its reefs.
