Plastic Oceans UK

Plastic Oceans UK, established in 2009, was the first NGO to raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution on our oceans. Based on proven science and personal experience, their goal is to inspire people to make real-life positive changes to prevent plastic from reaching the ocean within a generation. Jo Ruxton, the founder of Plastic Oceans UK, led the production of their seminal documentary ‘A Plastic Ocean’ praised by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the most important films of our time”. It ignited mass consumer awareness and was even the reason the BBC’s Blue Planet II production included a sequence about plastic in their environmental episode.
