We're delighted to include organic wines in the Sea Change range - but why drink organic wine? Aside from being downright delicious, there are several real benefits to drinking organic wine. Here are just a few (in case you needed an excuse - we know we didn't!)
1. ORGANIC WINES SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE FARMING PRACTICES
The use of chemicals and fertilisers can damage the ground, not only affecting the soil fertility but also killing environmentally beneficial insects and weeds.
Because these additives are never used in the production of Organic wine grapes, soil fauna and flora are encouraged, also improving soil structure and health.
2. ORGANIC WINES CONTAIN ADDED NUTRIENTS
Organic wine grapes produce heartier skins and have higher concentrations of all of those good-for-you antioxidants.
To improve the taste of a wine, winemakers typically add extra sugar during the wine-making process
Organic wines, on the other hand, generally contain little to no added sugar, making organic wines are a better option for those looking to reduce their sugar consumption.
3. ORGANIC WINES HAVE FEWER SULPHITES
Winemakers use sulphites both as a flavour enhancer and as a preservative.
While consuming small amounts of sulphites isn’t dangerous, some individuals might be more sensitive to sulphites than others.
Organic wines, however, generally contain fewer sulphites, making them perfect for those who are allergic or looking to reduce their sulphite consumption.
SEA CHANGE ORGANIC WINE
Featuring our Sea Otter label, our organic red and white wines are the perfect introduction to organic grapes.
ORGANIC RED WINE
Made from Bobal, a native Spanish grape, our organic red wine balances intensity with the vibrant flavours of red and black fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and blackcurrant.
With a deep ruby colour, this wine is full-bodied with high tannins and a beautiful long finish. So it's no accident that this wine achieved a stunning 92/100 Decanter points!
ORGANIC WHITE WINE
Our organic white wine is a bright Chardonnay that can best be described as sunshine in a glass.
A balanced combination of aromas and taste creates a light yet fruity wine.
Nuances of white flowers on the nose and citrus fruits on the palette, it has a refreshing acidity that ends with a long-lasting finish.
SEA CHANGE ECO-FRIENDLY ORGANIC WINE
Not only do our organic wines scrap the unnecessary plastic packaging, but with every 75cl bottle of Sea Change sold, we donate a minimum of 25 Euro Cents to our charity partners.
Since our launch in 2018, we have raised in excess of €150,000 for our partners, something we are incredibly proud of.
By purchasing a bottle or two of our organic wine, you will be contributing to projects facilitated by our charity partners like the Olive Ridley Project and Sea-Changers UK.
